Identifying need and measuring the mental health and wellbeing of pupils and learners

Welcome to the information site for the Wellbeing Measurement Discovery Study. The study includes a survey of schools and colleges and good practice case study visits to a small number of schools. We – IFF Research – are disseminating the survey and carrying out the case study visits on behalf of the Department for Education (DfE).

DfE is interested in learning more about how schools and colleges approach identifying needs and measuring pupil and learner mental health and wellbeing.

By answering this survey, you will help us understand:

  • What schools and colleges are doing
  • How schools and colleges plan how to support pupil and learner mental health and wellbeing, including how they identify need and measure levels of need and wellbeing
  • What has worked well for schools and colleges, and what challenges they face
  • What tools and guidance schools and colleges use, and areas where they would like more guidance
  • Understand how the Department for Education can better support schools and colleges in this area

This work is being carried out by IFF Research, an independent social and market research agency, on behalf of the Department for Education DfE).
